About George

George is a qualified Registered Psychologist with over 12 year's experience.  He treats both identifiable psychological disorders and problems that develop from the stressors of everyday living.

Before founding Psych4life Psychology, George was associated with Independent Counselling Services (ICS) for 6 years and completed his formal clinical training under the direct supervision of Dr Tony Nicholas of ICS. Prior to this, George developed a detailed understanding of the workers comp system as a Psychological Injury Co-ordinator.

At Wesley, George was the Clinical Supervisor for the Counselling Team, Co-ordinator of the EAP and also presented a regular weekly radio segment. George's education and 15 years' experience as a qualified accountant has given him a unique insight into workplace relationships and organisational issues.

For 15 years after completing his Commerce degree, George had a successful career working in private and corporate business in a range of roles from Project Manager to Accountant. Although enjoyable, he knew that he had more to offer and more to learn, so he made a courageous, life-changing decision to go "back to school" and study psychology. George has always been interested in health and wellbeing, and emerged upon the completion of his degree with an appreciation for the effectiveness of positive psychology, in dealing with people's problems and potential, by bringing about changes in behaviour and thoughts.

Away from the office, George can be seen surfing his home break at Merewether Beach whenever he gets the opportunity. He enjoys reading, history, philosophy and yoga. George lives at Merewether with his wife and his three children.
